Learn About the Presenters
Dr. Épryl King
I, along with other community members, founded Raising Achievement in Monroeville and Pitcairn (RAMP) in 2007. We wanted to find ways to help improve student achievement. I am also a 2nd grade teacher with a Masters in Ed. degree, and a Doctorate in Ed. degree, both in Curriculum and Instruction. My dissertation involved learning about culturally responsive practices. I'd like to share what I've learned because I've seen it work to close achievement gaps, a problem with which many educators and schools struggle. I too, am still learning and seeking information from the Center for Urban Education at the University of Pittsburgh CUETalks and CUESEF as well as Duquesne University Forums and Symposiums. I also work with Dr. Jerome Taylor from the University of Pittsburgh on the Justice Works advisory committee of the Center for Family Excellence in the Hill District. I also work with the other presenters as colleagues in the district where we work. Together, we are dedicated to making an impact on student achievement! |
